hold is displayed when the power has been abruptly cut, like huge surge from dead battery, and someone jumped off car for examlpe.
Sooo, the fix is take out the radio, get the serial number off radio and take number to Kia dealer and they can look up the code to reset it.
There is usually a fuse in the radio itself,or in the radio harness .Also when you check the fuses there are two in the car-one for the always on power and one for the ignition power to the radio.Check the operaters manual to see which ones you need to check. If the radio need to come out you should be able to find the anchor nut under the radio knobs, they just pull off.Good luck.
You can go to the dealer and have them help you get the code for the radio, if there going to charge you a crazy amount you can try www.radio-code.com. There cost is cheaper and can help you reprogram the code in your KIA. befor you go through all that, check for the code in the glove box, there might be a sticker in there or in your back pages to your manuel.
Good luck and hope this helps yougte your radio wokring again, keep me posted oh and try 0000 first.
I got mine from Kia Customer service 1-800-333-4542. They gave me the right code which actually worked. If the "Hold" sign comes up and locks your radio, you might need to leave the radio on for more than an hour for the "code" sign to re-appear.
hi there your car will have a security code for the radio this is there so if some one steals your radio and put it in there car it will ask for a code and unless they have it if they don't it will be useless to them as it will do what you are doing now if you have the owners manual you can look in there for a radio code this will be a 4 digit code you need to enter it when prompted if you don't have the code go to your local KIA service center and they will be able to get it for you
