Caravan malfunction indicator light

The check engine light comes on when there is a fault or failure of a component within one of the systems. It will need to be checked for a fault then a diagnostic procedure routine will need to be done to determine the cause of the fault. If that check engine light is flashing while driving STOP and have it towed to the nearest shop, preferably a Chrysler dealer as they have the highest trained techs to correctly diagnose issues on any Chrysler product.

My 2009 vw jetta TDI has code po47a showing. What does this mean?

When my 2009 Jetta TDI check engine light came, I took it to my nearest VW dealer - about 100 miles away. $450 spent, and they said some kind of exhaust flap was stuck, and they replaced it. Within a month, the CE light came on again. Didn't want to drive 100 miles and get stuck up for another $500 so I purchased an OBD reader, and the code is PO47A. Apparently has something to do with the exhause pressure sensor. I ordered one, and repaced it myself (about $85) and cleared the code. After driving for about 10 miles, the CE light comes back on, and the error code is again PO47A. My repair manual for the car has codes for PO47B, PO47C and a few more, but no PO47A. the car runs just fine as it is, but I want to make sure there is nothing serious going on.

If the engine is reving real high and you are going real slow it appears that the transmission is at fault. You can drive it to the dealer like that but you will be reving the engine like crazy . I would just have it towed.

The ABS, TCS, and ESP warning lights have suddenly come on in my 08 Saturn Vue. What do I need to do? Is the car safe to drive?

Safe? it depends what you think safe is. if going only a few miles or so TO THE DEALER you should be okay but only to the dealer, have it towed if its under warrenty cause the dealer could say they wont fix it cause you drove it with the light on. Also, the manual says what to do in this case. By the way, continued driving might cause more damage to the sensors and electrontics
I'm not telling you to drive it so you be the judge as to wether or not you should drive it to the dealer or tow it there. Dont worry it could be something as simple as a blown fuse

1998 volvo s70 glt missfireon #3 dont run hot. at a stop or very low speed it idles rough but when you start to go it drives good.

1. Check spark plugs
2. Check HT leads
3. Check distributor cap
4. Check rotor arm (in distributor)
5. Check coolant for traces of oil and check oil for sludgy emulsion. Either of these two could indicate a blown head gasket.

1. Compression test on all cylinders. This should show if any cylinder has a lack of compression. Lack of compression could be caused by a) damaged valves, b) damaged piston rings. The leak down test will show you which it is.

Even harder
1. Leak down test on all cylinders. If there is air being blown back throught the dipstick tube it is likely that the piston rings are at fault. If air comes back through the throttle body, it may be the inlet valves. If air comes back through the exhaust the the exhaust valves are the likely cause.

In any case it is recommended to fix the problem asap to prevent damage to the engine.

If you check the "Easiest" items (above) and found nothing, I would recommend being towed to a dealer / workshop. If you can't get a tow and the dealer / workshop is less than 20 miles away you could still drive there but with the injector for cyl 3 disconnected. Be aware that in doing so you a likely to stall the engine (especially with automatic trans) and when that happens the power steering and the servo assist for the brakes don't work thus making driving dangerous.

I hope it is something simple, mine wasn't.

Blown head gasket

It depends on the severity of the blow, and the distance to the other dealer, less than a couple miles should be okay, Just make sure you got plenty of water in the radiator. Any further and I'd rather tow it! You don't want to save on towing costs and pay more for damages later! Hope that helps!

It is a fault with the alarm system, or with the alarm remote. check the battery in the remote (key). If remote is ok, you will have to disconnect alarm to start your car normally. Go to a car electrician , or to a car alarm dealer, or to Ford if the alarm is the original one to fix it or replace the alarm.
