Try the fuel pump if thats not it check to make sure you're getting fire to number 1 spark plug and make sure there's fuel coming out and into the carb if that doesn't help im not sure what it could be cause mine is doing the same thing. ive replaced the fuel relay, fuel filter, air flow sending unit, rotor button, computer, ignition module in the distributor the next thing for me to replace is the ignition switch and the gages. im changing those two things next because the feul gage is pegged all the way passed full and ive only got a little less than half a tank of gas. good luck on your journey...

From the info you provided, it seems like it is not getting constant supply of fuel. I think that don't have a carburator. It has a TBI(Throttle Body Injector. You should hear a faint humming noise at the back coming from within the fuel tank when you turn the key on. Thats the fuel pump. Your fuel pump may have gone out.

87 4x4 suburban wont shift into high gears and runs hot is it the leaking transfer case?

have you checked transfer case fluid level as well as transmission,if levels ok and fluid is not brown and burnt in odour i would check kick down cable adjustment or as some call it the passing gear cable from throttle body or carb to transmission

Spinning but no fire or fuel to crank

Ok,well need a little more info, but here it goes. Is there power to the pump with the key on for 5 sec. or so is all it will stay on unless cranking. Check the fuel pressure. If there's no power anywhere but the starter then it's a bad fusible link. There's basically a wire that acts like a fuse & they're bolted to the main post on the starter. There could be some in the fuse box under the hood also. If the fuse link is bad,you can either use an ohm meter of just wiggle them with the key on until something lights up, then be sure to use the proper fuse link wire not just any wire type works safely. Make sure it's roughly the same length when you splice it in,longer it is the more resistence it handles, fire hazard. The under the hood fuses are just plug in. Write back if you need more help.

93 grand cherokee 5.2 all time 4wd wont stay runing when put in gear

It sounds like the torque converter is locked up. Possible a bad torque converter or converter solenoid. First thing you should try is unplugging the solenoid plug on the transmission. Drivers side, near the shifter. Not the three pin connector near the pan on the same side. The connector you want is higher than the reverse light plug.

Idles fine cold/ when it wamrs up it dies 1986 4x4 gmc suburban

This is only a suggestion because it worked for me. With a cool engine, use a can of store brand carb cleaner and spray the heck out of it. Get it into the linkage well and let it sit for up to and hour or so....stuff some rags on the intake manifold to soak up the excess. Then, after letting it sit, get your 'Burb up to operating temp. Should be the ticket for you....and no, your engine won't catch fire.

Repair

you need to hook up a fuel pressure tester and see if you have the proper fuel pressure if it is a throttle body needs 9-13lbs of pressure if it is fuel injected it should have between 35-44 lbs
if it has that you need to check injector pulse with a noid light let me know how you make out
