2004 Dodge Durango AC problem

The air does not work. Worked last year, and I would like to check fuses and relays before I take it in for service... Problem is that the manual does not have a diagram. Do you know where I could find one or offer other suggestions?

Thanks,
Joe

There are two fuses inside the interior fuse box located on the kick panel left side floorboard. The cover for the fuse box lists which one is which if yours doesnt let me know and I will look at mine to give you reference numbers. There is also a clutch relay under the hood. Facing the engine it is on the right hand side. There are two black boxes that just lift open by pressing in a release on each side. There is a ac fan relay and a ac clutch relay inside the black box. Both are around 12 bucks at auto zone. You can google a way to test them with a jumper. .

Let me know if you cant find them I will shoot some pics of mine and send them to you.

If the fan in side the truck works ,most likely needs freon u can buy a charge hose and do it ur self about 3 cans of freeon and a oil charge, look for the larger ac line/hose of the two ac lines/hoses a service port will be on that line/hose or on the compressor ,it is the smaller of the two ports .,when charging set to max air and high blower motor and recerculation if applical, while charging the ac compressor will cycle on and off untill u get close to enough freon in system ,,,says on dryer or fan box amount of freon to use ,,,cans are 12 oz ,,just do the math i hope tis is good info if not feel free to e mail ma at roniecon@gmail.com

Replaced the resister and blower motor still nothing what next

Test for current to motor. If none you have either a bad fuse, bad switch or bad wiring. Nothing else left.

In the two years since it last worked the gas pressure could have fallen so now it won't work and wouldn't have worked if you hadn't borrowed the relay.

On average a vehicle air-con needs a top up every couple of years so I suggest you begin by visiting your local air-con service centre.

My a/c on my 01 ford ranger will not come on

You should check and verify that there is any refrigerant in the system...

I hate to just leave you with that, however since you've not specified any
steps or scenarios of why or when or whatelse...

I could only assume that your air is just blowing Hot or Warm
It could also be assumed that it worked and was cold last week or last year...

Needs Refrigerant

However, maybe your clutch is not engaging, or the compressor is going out...

So, first things first, check your fuses for the A/C, replace if need be and check the refrigerant and PSI level, make sure they are in accordance to the anbient air temperature around the vehicle at that time.

Hopefully you've found some use in this

Good Luck and Happy Motoring

The air blower worked intermittenly and stopped working now

So you have no speeds working correct.
Its the blower or the switch its self because high speed is direct B+ from the battery to the motor. To test switch remove it from the electrical connectors and use the shop manual so you can jump certain terminals to see if the motor operates. If when you bypass the switch the motor runs the problem was the switch. Before you condem the motor check out the relay. Make sure your getting B+ to the relay and from relay to motor . . You should check resistors (gonna need specs for this ) each one (aka speeds )mandates a certain amount of resistance which is found in the shop manual. Use an ohm meter to verify this.

1996 LX - Condenser Fan Blows Fuse

Make sure your are using the right amp fuse, if so you will need have the fan relay checked by a mechanic. The porblem would be in the wiring of the car since there is not much to a air conditioning system in a civic. As for the air not being cold you may have a leak in the plumbing of the air system that needs to be fixed because freon is very expinsive.
