If you mean the truck won't move when its in gear, i would definitely take it back to the shop, if the vehicle has high mileage, they shouldn't have recommended a flush, that is a common mistake, when you flush the transmission fluid out of a vehicle with high mileage, your flushing out all the friction material in the trans and then the trans won't work properly or at all. i work at a shop and unless the vehicle has had routine flushes, i won't do a transmission flush on a vehicle that has 80k miles or over that unless the customer insists, then i tell them there is a chance the trans could break down! but yea other than checking the fluid to make sure its full i'd take it back to the shop and have them pay for the tow and have them look it over in case they messed it up, then you shouldn't have to pay!

1997 Chevy Malibu LS will go into reverse fine, but not into drive.

If you found blackened transmission fluid in an automatic transmission - I'd say you found your problem! I'd be willing to bet the discoloration is material from internal clutches that has been worn off and caused overheating. Sorry, but this will likely require rebuilding or replacing.

Have a look here for add'l info on tranny oil color:

Vehicle ran fine yesterday. Today it wouldn't

This is going to sound strange but, have someone get over to where your starter is. While you try and start it have them tap on it slightly with a small hammer.
I t could be the brushes are hanging up.
Otherwise, I would pull the starter and have an auto center test it.
Please let me know what you find.

That box is the transmisson control module. Have you checked all your fuse yet? Make sure There is no bad connection on the harness. This is easier said than done. I would recomend using an schematic.

1993 chevy camero- thick, rusty colored residue in radiator

The rust is probably in the engine. There are many little pockets, water ways, water jackets (around the cylinders), etc, so getting all the rust out without dunking the block and heads in a cleaning tank is about imposible. I would recommend giving it really good flush every 4 to 6 months. I would try flushing the radiator before replacing it because it is probably not rusted, even though it is full of gunk.
