my 1987 blazer ran out of gas and i pout gas in and primed the carb and jump started it, it will start but wont keep running like its not getting any fuel. I think it might be the fuel pump but im not sure.

running low on gas is detrimental to the electronic in tank pump...the gasoline is actually the coolant and the pump running not submerged in fuel can make it run hot and fail...especially if its doused with cold fuel while refilling...almost like pouring cold water on a hot glass...ck fuel pressure.....pump will run for 3 seconds with key on/engine off which can be heard in a quiet place...if it sounds funky like a squeelish noise or not heard at all ...it could be toast...sorry

Cheapest route is your fuel filter...you might have gunked it up! Try replacing your filter first.
