The Sable/Taurus vehicles use an automatic, spring-loaded tensioner. If it really is too loose, the tensioner should be replaced.
Your local NAPA or Carquest store should have this part in stock, as it is a common replacement part. Note that they will have both the Tensioner and just the Pulley, available. Do not just replace the pulley... you need the tensioner to get the new spring loaded part.
Good Luck.

You will need an alternative wrench. The alternator wrench will grab the alternator for you and allow you to move the alternator to make the belt extremely tight. However, depending on which engine you have, you may have a serpentine belt which is tightened automatically with an tension wheel. If this is the case you have the wrong size belt and need to obtain the correct, smaller belt.

Noise comming from motor like screaming like a belt failing

Sounds like a belt is slipping. Most probably the altinator belt. Its just a case of tightening it up. In most cases this is done by looseing the altinator a bit and pushin it to make the belt tighter

If i am not mistaken you cant "tighten" it up...the belt tension is automatic controlled by the belt tensioner.

Aloud squeal.

You need to tighten the altinator belt..
It squeels and falls off because it is too loose..
Losten the two bolt a bit on the altinator so it will move..
Put the belt on - loose is ok right now..
Use a very large scewdriver or a crowbar - find leverage - to push on the altinator in the derection that tightens the belt..
Once you have some good force on it - keep the force on it as you tighten the bolts..

This will take care of the problem.. ;o)

How to tighten the altinator belt

You might have the wrong belt. I just did this on my 92 Marquis and ended up with the belt for a 97. The gear layout was all wrong for the first. There was an additional wheel called the 'idler'.

Altinator belt

The belt, most likely is shot...just get it replaced. Your car comes equipped with a "tensioner" pulley that keeps the belt tight all the time. Unless you have mechanical experience, I really do NOT recommend trying this job at home...Just DON'T GO TO THE DEALERSHIP!
Good Luck
