My 2005 TrailBlazer would do this if I replaced the battery or if the battery went dead. It would take a while for the computer to reset (sometimes days) after the computer reset it was fine. You might want to check with GMC. I called and spoke with a customer service representive last year and they fixed on a unannounced recall.

There was a recall on the wiper circuit board cracking and causing the problems your having and at worst the wipers not working. For now you can pull the fuse to the wipers to save the wiper blades, but the problem is the circuit board where the wire harness clips on to the wiper motor cracks and will need to be re-soldered. You can check with the dealer to see if your wiper motor is still covered with the campaign a few years ago, if not you can buy the replacement circuit board at most larger auto parts store like Auto Zone and they can give you the step by step instructions to get the job done. A light tap to the electric motor where the wire harness will also fix this problem, but it really needs to be re-soldered or replaced. Good luck
SOURCE: The fan pulley is loose in my 2005 Trailblazer.
this is hard to say, not knowing whats wrong, it may be a bad waterpump or bad fan clutch, the fan clutch is the most common problem on these type of trucks, but could be the pump,to drive 25 miles i dont know, tell you what, open the hood with the engine off, grab the fan and try to spin it,if it binds up then its okay to drive, but if you grab it and move it back and fourth and theres alot of play then its a gamble but a would think it would be okay just keep an eye on the temp gauge, if it starts to overheat then shut it down and tow it the rest of the way, hope this helps,

Hi Anonymous, I want to help you with your problem, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box?
Does this happen when only when the car is at normal operating temp.? Does it loose power or cut out before this happens? Sometimes the water in the gas will make it vapor lock. Does your temp.stay below the halfway mark ?
