Sounds as if forward driving gears are shot. Different gears make vehicle move in reverse. I would ask if transmission fluid level when checked is in the operation range or full.

86 acura legend manual transmission shifting problems

so the problem is that you cannot get it into gear from a stop
(grinds trying to force into gear) . if you have a clutch pedal, what I mean is that clutch pedal has pressure behind it,moves up and down by itself, then its a clutch assy needs replaced.clutch disc/pressure plate/release bearing. if there is no pedal, falls to floor, its either clutch slave or clutch master failure issue(lost all fluid). but nothing points at needing a transmission,it should be fine

I have 2003 envoy. when i put it into drive(D) it acts like i'm in nuetral or park when touch the gas pedal. anyone have any ideas?

(Not a mechanic) First thing to check is the transmission fluid level. If excessivly low it may not move. (Usually check trans fluid with transmission dip stick, while engine is idling and warmed up) Consult owners manual to verify procedure. If your fluid levels are normal or close to normal, you should call a transmission shop unless you are or know a good mechanic.

My 1999 odyssey is having a hard time moving forward. When on D4 it takes a long time before it starts moving and when i press on the gas pedal RPM just goes up without the vehicle moving forward...Reverse...

Check first the fluid. If you need to add or you may need to replace it. Other than that it could be some dirt or debris internally on the gear valves or it may be a bad torque converter.

Transmission issues revving up and not going in gear smoothly

I sounds like you may be low on transmission fluid. Its hard to say with the limited information yuo have given. If you put it into drive and the vehicle sits there and you give it gas and the engine revs up and then slowly starts moving, it is a transmission problem. If it is low you may have already done irreversible damage. The problem will get worse very quickly. Check your trans fluid immediately.

Gas pedal sometimes hard to push, i have replaced

sounds like your brakes are taking too long to disengage. Your problem may not be your gas pedal. If your brakes are sticking it could be holding your acceleration back just a bit until the car gets moving again.

I have a 1996 z28 camaro with auto trany that kicks into gear

check your transmission fluid level. see if it's burned. you can try changing transmission fluid, but only half at a time. If you change all your fluid at once, you could blow some seals on older vehicles.

My brakes are locking up on all four wheels on my 04 sentra.

Your brake light switch is adjusted in all the way and is pressing on the brake pedal. This causes the brake to be slightly applied. As you drive the vehicle the brake fluid heats up and expands, the brakes will apply more and more until you see the smoke. Bottom line: your brakes are always applied at the master cylinder because something(usually the brake light switch) is out of adjustment.

Automatic transmission

if it's a utility vehicle... a quick cheap fix is to buy a liter (or whatever the size is) of transmission conditioner. I may have the wrong name but basically what it does is thicken the tranny fluid. it has allowed me to put another 20,000 kilomters on my van.
