Check all your vac hoses, start the truck and spray carb clean around the carb and on all hoses and if it revs up when you hit a certain spot you found a leak causing your idle problem, make sure to do this on a cold engine because the carb clean is very flammable and if it hits something hot it may ignite. be very careful

check the setting on the automatic choke . loosen the 3 screws on the mounting ring and turn the cap a few points to allow the choke to come off earlier.. If it is heated by pipes from the manifold ensure that the hot air is getting to the choke operating bi-metal spring. If electric ensure that the current is getting to the heater in the cap.

High idle speed on a vehicle with fuel injection is usually caused by a faulty idle air control valve or a vac leak.

If its an auto box you fill up the tranny through the dip stick tube. You have to be very careful and patient as it can take a while to do.

My 84 blazer wont shift

Your 84 wiring harness is for the TCC ( transmission converter control) system.
On the left side of the carburetor (driver side) you should have 2 cables, one for the accelerator and the 2nd for the TV (throttle valve) control. You will need to adjust the cable for correct shift points. Under normal circumstances you will have 7 to 10 mm's extending beyond the cable adjuster block.
Should take care of the issue for you.
Let me know.
