My inside lights doesnt shut off when the car is off

was the correct bulb used? this sounds like a single function bulb was used NOT the bulb that will light with the headlights and ALso produce turn singles

Sounds like something lost programming or maybe the positive wire touched the negative terminal by accident and shorted something out. Do you have an aftermarket alarm or remote starter?

the most common problem with those retractable hard tops are leaking hydraulic cylinders. check the insides of your trunk where the top down cylinders are located if there's a leak,and also check the level of the hydraulic fluid situated near the right brake lights.
in your slk manual, there are instructions on how to manually close the roof when the hydraulics fail.

There are leaky capacitors insider your computer ECU) /// inside passenger side left kick panel.

This a well know capacitors issue with 3000GT and SRT-4.


The capacitors part is under $15. Labor time is under 1 hours.

There are ECU swape shop but they will charge you top dollar.


Ask a friend with GOOD soldering skill to do this job.

you got a bad ground on the taillight circuit

it is not a safety issues . the chip sensor in the car is defective. if it doesnt anoy you dont worry. if the sensor fails to warn you when the key is left inside then you should be concerned.

the fan relay may have went bad...if the fan doesnt come on the compressor will shut down because of excessive pressure...has he used a test light to check all the fuses under the hood and inside... pay particular attention to fuse 10 in the inside fuse box...if there is no power at all to that fuse it may be in the ignition switch

spray both door latches with penetrating oil and open and shut the doors numerous time... should fix the problem
