Brake rotor isn't pressed on. No special tools required. Just move the brake caliper off and the brake rotor slides off.

How to chang front rotors on 2000 Toyota Avalon

should be as simple as remove the wheel, remove brake caliper, remove rotor. some rotors and I believe Toyota is one of them have machined threaded holes in the rotor where you can thread a bolt to sort of press the rotor off the hub. however there are some rotors that are part of the hub. I don't believe I have run into one on a light duty front wheel drive vehicle but none the less common sense would tell you to use caution when removing the rotor and not cause damage to parts but over exerting force to remove. re assembly is reverse of disassembly. when putting on new rotors I always use a sanding disc or some emery cloth to put a swirl pattern on the rotor surface and scuff the new pads. speaking of pads in order to replace the pads you may need to have a special tool to press and rotate the caliper piston back into the caliper (thanks Toyota). I believe it is easy to find at auto parts store. hope I have provided some help to you.

What size tool/kind of tool do i need to remove the big center star nut on my 2007 toyota highlander front rotor

The rotors are knock off rotors. They are just rusted and stuck to the hub. DO NOT REMOVE THE AXLE NUT. this will not help you get the rotor off. Instead use a large hammer and hit the rotor from the back side. Several good whacks should break it free.

2003 s type brake front pad - what tools are need to change the pads

the front pads are pretty straight forward, just a c clamp is sufficient to press the calibers, make sure the brake fluid reservoir cap is off when you do them..just unbolt the calibers from the rotors and they work the same as standard brakes, but the rear calibers at time will need a caliber tool to turn and press the piston simultaneously

I'm trying to replace the rotors on 2001 Tundra. Calipers are off but rotors won't budge. medium pounding all the way around but they won't budge.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. Rotors are hard to get off sometimes, especially without the right tool. If you are changing them anyway, go ahead and use a hammer to break off a piece. Once it is broke, it will come out a lot easier. If you are not breaking them, you really need a rotor tri pod tool. Spray PB blaster or some other chemical on it and keep trying to break it loose. There is nothing holding it on there, it is just snug.

I want to change the front rotors on a 2003 elantra and what do I need?

mcdevito75 here, You"ll need a sturdy jack to lift the car, you"ll need the tools to lift the brake calipers off the rotor, in short let your local shop change the rotors. If you try and get stuck some how now you have to tow the car and have the rotors replaced.

Front brake rotors 1995 toyota 4runner

If you have 6 bolts going around the center (manual lock in/lock out) hub, you are going to be there a while. The center hub needs to come off, and ALL of the internal wheel bearings need to come out. The whole locking hub must be removed in order get the rotor off. This is NOT an easy job, and you need a special tool to loosen/tightem the wheel bearings. Figure 2 hrs per side if you have all of the proper tools & skill level.
