Wiper motor run on oilite bush it mite be dry or wear on them. make new or press new oil into the bush.
also check the brushes for 100% contact on armature.

Jetta?You mean Bora!The computer (ECU) is in the middle of the compartment where the windscreen wiper motors are.

the linkage to the wiper came apart, remove the cowling at the base of the windshield and check linkage

Wiper move very slow


My 1999 jetta wipers were stuck. I took the wiper motor and swing arm assembly apart and cleaned and lubricated the shafts that go to the wiper arms and all is good now.

there is a loose nut to the little electric motor, same thing happened to me or maybe your wiper motor went out if you can hear it moving then its just the loose nut

Steps for replacing wiper motor for 1998 VW Jetta 4 cyl.


remove wipers. remove plastic covering by loosening plastic screws first. unplug wiper motor wires. there are about three 10mm nuts at the motor location and you also have to unscrew the big nuts that were below the wipers when you unscrewed them. replacement is reversal.
