Hi there had the same problem, if the motor still turns over and the cam's do not move you might have the oil pump freeze up on you>>

I have a 95 eclipse gs i can start the car with the cam position sensor unplugged but take a few cranks to start. it stays running when i plug it in while running but when i turn off the car and try to...

run the fault codes to check that it is the problem . Cam position sensors have critical air gap measurements ---or prone to the air gap being contaminated with stuff and the rotor being loose or damaged

Car wont start, what could it be?

Check the fuel system to make sure it's getting gas. Take the back seat out and turn the ignition on without cranking the car. You should hear the fuel pump make noise for a few seconds as it pressurizes the system and then turns off. If you don't hear anything, it would probably be the pump or one of the two relays on the firewall next to the master cylinder.

2002 mitsubishi 6 cyl will start and run fine until you turn it off then it wont restart. now wont start at all. did this several times until it wont start at all. cam sensor??? or fule system problem?

The most neglected part in this system is the battery. Have your battery tested for retaining the charge, some of the cells can fail and your battery will not retain the charge, even after a long drive.

Try starting it with a booster battery, if your problem disappears, you just need a new one.

Hope this helps.

1993 wrangler starting problems

You have to find out if it has fuel and spark . One or the other is missing at the demise of the engine.

Eclipse has gas but wont start up

it has gas but does it have fuel pressure? try spraying a little starting fluid into the intake at the throttle valve, if it starts u have a pressure problem and a possible defective electric fuel pump.

Replaced headgasket now car wont start.

Hello, looking at the response from my colleagues I feel possibly they and you are looking in the wrong area.
You say it won't completely crank over? I hope you mean turn over manually by rotating the crankshaft pulley with a knuckle bar and not trying to turn over on the key?
Whenever I do a cambelt or head/gasket change to make certain I've got the cam timing correct I rotate the engine through 360 degrees to make sure! if it isn't correct the pistons will hit the valves and not Crank over completely as you put it.
So I would see if the timing mark on the Crank pulley, cam and if diesel pump align correctly.
Good luck! I hope this sorts your problem? if so please remember press that Blue Fixya button to appraise my FREE effort's.
