Question about 2003 Hummer H2

1 Answer

My 20 amp ignition fuse keeps blowing while driving. Replacing the fuse will allow me to drive it for a few minutes, then it just blows again. I noticed this happens when it is hot out, but it could be just a coincidence. Help!

Fuse 18 keeps blowing

Once a fuse blows,it does so for a reason
Common Sense
In a 60 year driving career you have maybe 6 fuses blow
Replacing them 5 out of 6 time they blow again
Ask yourself why
You need to find the most logical item in that circuit
& start testing & that usually requires a wiring diagram
or you have no map or now where to start any testing.
Something overloaded a circuit find it & replace it or
resolve the wiring issue

Location of fuel over load reset button?

Fuel Safety Shut Off Switch --- is only on Ford Products
& only opens in a serious accident,so diagnose the circuit
that blows the fuse
Don't keep replacing it,that's silly
Diagnose the fuel system if you know how ,have the proper
knowledge & test equipment & possibly wiring diagrams,
otherwise take to a repair shop & explain

The fuse that keeps blowing is related to your ignition. Get the faults read at a shop and find what is triggering fault and that will lead you to your problem. It's a whole lot easier than throwing parts at it, and cheaper.

I have a 1998 chevy blazer (s-10) 4.3L 4x4 it keeps blowing the #15 (10amp) 4wd fuse, if you put a 10 amp fuse in it will blow the minute you turn it on ,then we put a 15 amp in it seems to do it when you...

check transfer case electrical switch, sometime if it bad it will also blow the fuse. don't recommend you put any higher fuse than recommend, If the fuse blow there is a short some where and by putting higher amp fuse you might short or burn something else beside the fuse. if that check out than check your transfer case motor, might lock up and not allowing the motor to turn instead it short the fuse. don't drive the car, just leave it in park, put correct fuse amp back in and unplug transfer case electric switch and turn the key on (dont start the car) and see if the fuse blow; if not plug it back in and see if it blow the fuse. if that is not the case, unplug transfer case wire, and do the same and see if it blow the fuse.

Wiper fuse keeps blowing intermittently.

It looks like the wire circuit for the wiper motor is touching the car body when shaken so the only thing you can do is shake the wires and terminals yourself while engine is running then maybe you can pinpoint where the earthing is.
