Question about 2005 Subaru Outback
Ask the dealer to inspect the calibration id of your ecm/computer there is a reflash avaible for this condition if it applies,if the vehicle is a standard trans ther has also been faults with the neutral switch in the transmission,switch contacts sometimes stick,signaling car is in neutral inturn shutting down cruise control, hope this helps good luck

This is an ongoing problem with the 2005 subrau. Mine went out seven time in a period of three years. Traded it for a 2008. Take it back to the Subrau dealer or write to Subrau. If yoou raise enough hell they will replace the unit. They replaced mine seven times.
