So, the engine does not turn when you turn the key to start.... (correct?) Ok, have you checked to see if there is power to the trigger wire on the starter when you turn the key to the start position? If not, check for any relay that operates the starter, check the neutral safety switch and of course, the ignition switch itself. I'm assuming that you can turn the engine by hand and that you have verified that the battery has 12v in it and has passed a load test.(and that you have checked for power using a volt meter, not by "thinking" that there is power...sounds dumb, but you'd be surprised at how many times I've seen this happen!

Have you tried bypassing the ignition? Turn the key to the on position and cross the starter terminals with a screwdriver. If it starts then you will need a new ignition or possibly a new ignition module.

A friend grounded the power wire to my ignition on my 96 yzf600r and now it wont start I replaced the fuse and the lights come on but wont turn over please help

Check every switch, solinoid, and wires from the ignition connector to the starter, with a volt meter, follow the 12 volts from the start button to the starter to the battery.
On a wild guess, the starter solinoid doesn't have 12 volts coming out of it when it is engauged.

Best of luck!

I have a 2003 acura rsx my starter was messed up so i switched it my car will turn over but wont start and if it does it will rev up then die, i just got a new battery so i don't know what is wrong...

Make sure the cable clamps or bolts are clean and tight on the batt. Dirt will interfere and cause batt to act like it is low on power.

JUST REPLACED STARTER .lESS THEN 100MILES,BACK TO CLICK,CLICK NOT STARTING AGAIN

First thing to do is get the battery checked to be sure it is good. It should read more the 9.6 volts but the closer to 13, the better it is. Below 9.6 is no good and it should be charged or replaced.
If the battery is good check your power cables at the starter. Make sure there is no corrosion (green gunk) and that they are tight. A lot of times the cables are the culprit, the ends get corroded and rot sets in and they can't deliver the power. Check the battery ends to make sure they are clean and tight as well. All your electrical contact points should be bare shiny metal to metal.
It is possible that the starter is bad, this does occasionally happen. If that's the case then you should be able to get warranty with less than 100 miles.
Hope this helps.

GOOD BATT, POWER TO STATER BUT WONT TURN, NO CLICK'S OR OTHER SOUND'S AND DASH LIGHTS DON'T DIM? DO I NEED A NEW STARTER IF SO HOW DO I GET IT OUT? THANKS

Need to know model to offer specifics.
You say there is power to the starter. I presume that you checked both the cable and the trigger wire at the starter so you know that the problem is not the immobilizer theft prevention circuit.
On most 6-cyl BMWs, removing the starter involves removing the intake manifold. It is a real PITA, but it is a good time to check and clean a lot of other stuff that you have been putting off, like cleaning the PVC valve and the idle air control valve and replacing vacuum hoses and those leaking power steering hoses.

Will not crank

Naw, not really odd. That usually happens when there is a bad batt ground connection. Remove and clean the battery cables, pay close atention to the negative cable. snug them down and make sure the post is not broken where the bolt goes if it is a side terminal battery. Good Luck_Ned_
