My 1990 mighty max is leaking gas out of one of the steel lines from the fuel sending unit on top of the gas tank. where can i get a new fuel sending unit or what should i do?


yes it is more than likely the hole problem. haha. but yes it can be fixed . If you can take the tank down one way to fix the leak is to wash it down with soapy water to get rid of any gas fumes, including inside the lines. Check the entire tube for holes on either side ,if the unit is badly rusted its not worth fixing, if not, sand leaking area down with plumbers tape and if you can solder water pipes then simply solder it. re -install unit . However if you cant or would not rather solder it a new one can be purchased at your local parts store in many cases or definately the dealership at the cost of a couple hundred dollars. Personally, I solder many of these as well as fuel tanks at less than a fourth the cost. Make sure you blow compressed air through the liner on the unit and filter sack to get rid of unwanted water.

Cant get the trans coolent lines to go in radiator, the part inside the radiator keeps moving around!! Please help


The secondary cooling coils should be soldered into place. Take the radiator to a radiator shop and have it soldered.

2003 trail blazer is leaking antifreeze from just in front of the right rear tire, it looke like a hard line, but couls it be the rear heater core?


That is about all it could be.. sounds like that or the lines going to it would be more likely.. So the best thing is to get some UV die and glasses. put the die in the radiator ..then get glasses and the light and see if you can identify exactly where it is leaking. I bet it is an aluminum line in that was a hole in it.... to fix it... use drain some water out of the system so there is not liquid at the point of the leak.. (it doesn't matter if it is the heater core or the line...you fix them both the same way. The area of the leak with wire brush as good as possible... use a paste flux (solder) because when you heat the line or the radiator they corrode faster than you can solder. heat is you with a torch put solder in the hole. Guaranteed it will fix. If it is in a bad spot (hard to heat because start a fire etc) I've had very very good luck using JB QUICK WELD .. If all that is too much trouble..and you don't care about having a heater in the summer (lol) and would just like the leaking stop...and deal with later..Then just go under the hood and disconnect that line from the heater line and put a plug in it... fast vacum by drier 2nd line & run compressor.when all air out by drier 2nd line.(have connected gas metter & gas clynder.)then gas charge 12 to 15 presser & use pancing tool block the drier 2nd line,cut it line solder it.

These Neons have an issue with poor soldering on the instrument cluster board. Some people pull the board out and re-solder all the contacts themselves, but there are places on-line or on ebay where you can get one that's already been fixed. The replacement part is easy.

Gas is not getting from gas tank to Carburator .. 1987/88 Wrangler 42. engine was recently rebuilt .. gas tank sending unit was removed and repaired .. fuel line was blown out with air compressor. fuel...


Make sure you have the lines attached correctly on the sending unit and make sure there no small holes in the line. The pump pulls fuel and will draw in air. To make sure the pump is good, attach the tank side to a container of fuel and see if the engine starts. (keep the container below the pump or it can start a siphon and appear to be OK when it's not)
If the repair to the sender involved soldering up a line leak, make sure the line is not still leaking and that the line has not filled with solder.
It's a really simple system...there are no "trick" items there. If everything is intact and the pump is good, it has to work!!!

A water line to the radiator is broken at the radiator. can it be fixed?


A water line, Is it a hose or a little pipe? Is it for water or oil? Either way, a radiator shop can fix it, they can solder it back together. But I've never seen a water line to the radiator, 2 hoses, and 2 transmission cooler lines at the bottom. Once you get away from the radiator, then you have a dozen water lines running all over the place. Hope this helps.

Instrument panel not working gauges tach speed


There has been issues with the solder joints on the PIN connection to the gauge cluster. The issue being that over time thru vibration and such one of these solder joints will fail (happened on or 1999) you can repair this though. You will have to remove all of the trim from around the driver's side dash board, this will include the trim towards the center of the dash. Once these pieces are remove you'll need to remove the gauge panel (I believe (4) allen head screws) carefully bring the panel and release the wire clip from it. Looking at the back of the panel, where the plug was, carefully with plenty of light look for one of the pins to have a failed solder joint. It will be very faint however the failed joint will be a fine dark line around the pin. To correct use a small soldering iron and reheat this solder until it wants to flow, let it cool and reassemble.
