Question about 2001 Chevrolet Venture
There is a wiper pulse board on the wiper motor itself that is failing, this can be replaced without replacing the entire unit.

Mounted on top of the wiper motor is the wiper transmission, when it goes bad the wipers will not park and stay in the straight up position. The part is easy to change, the wiper arm is held on to it by a clamp with two screws. The transmission itself is held onto the motor with one screw. You can get the part at most of the car part stores for about $ 70.00. I have to replace mine about once a year.

the switch has failed in the "park" circuitry..need new switch, or clean it with electrical contact cleaner you'd find at radio shack. take the switch by the hand and work it back an forth to see if you can clean up the bad spot.
it a 50/50 shot that you might fix it...mines doing the same thing but i just have to wait about 5 minutes and then the finally go to the park position, but it goes very slowly..thats whats to be expected out of a 22 year old Classic.
