Question about 2003 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
The car was running just fine earlier, but now the transmission will not allow the gears to engage. I press down on the clutch pedal and move the stick to the different gear positions but the car does not seem to engage.
I take it's a manual transmission, and if that's the case, if the engine is running, and you difficulty changing gears, either the mechanical synchronizer of the transmission or master or slave cylinder is malfunctioning. This is further discussed in this handy diagnostic artice:
