My 2004 Chevy Impala Ls has been cutting off on me the past month or so on and off. whats wrong with it and why does it keep doing this?

- The ignition switch has been replaced..it just stalls out still. what is the PCM?

When it cuts off, do all the lights cut off at the same time? If yes, normally the negative battery connection is corroded or the bolt is stripped out. If there are no engine codes or check engine lights but the head lights still work, then the ignition switch is tested, after that the PCM is replaced. Every other part in the system will set a code.
