See if you got water down where the spark plugs are. If there is any amount of water there, it can cause that. If you have water there, blow it out with air.

Runs rough when cold

Could be a vacuum leak.

My van started running rough just recently since Ihad a leak in my radiator hose.

Radiator hoses that spring leaks often/usually will spray a fine mist at some point. First thing i would check is the distributor cap. Any moisture in there will cause rough to no performance.

Idling problem

Mike,
First check for small vacuum leaks by spraying aerosol carb cleaner at any area which might leak [ie vacuum hoses] Any vacuum operated device which contains a diaphragm needs to be checked using a hand vacuum pump. Sears sells a nice one.
Also check to make sure that the purge valve for the charcoal emissions canister is not leaking when the engine is cold.
If this does not help or you find no leaks, I would strongly suspect that you have dirty and/or leaking fuel injectors. Fords are notorious for fuel injector problems. Dirty fuel injectors first show up as a problem with engine stalling or rough idling when cold. Fuel tank cleaners like Chevron Techron will sometimes work. However, the BEST way is to remove all the injectors and have them sent out to a shop with proper testing/cleaning [ultrasound] equipment. Generally, shops which specialize in diesel fuel injection have this equipment. Should cost you around $25 per injector for testing/cleaning.

When the moter is cold it idls rough when its warmed up its fine. I was thinking it might be the EGR valve but not sure

There are a couple of possibilities. When the motor is cold there is a "Cold Start routine" which relies on a Water temperature sending sensor to tell the brain that it needs to run this routine. Usually there are 2 temp sensors and 1 is for the dash gauge and the other is for the signal to the brain. Go to an Autoparts store and tell them what you want it for and they should be able to show you where it goes.

Another possibility is a loose gasket on the Intake manifold. With a little heat the gasket seals and the engine runs better. While the engine runs, you can spray a little Choke cleaner around the gasket seams and if the RPM changes you have found the leak. Either tighten the bolts or replace the gasket.

95 eagle talon - Runs fine when cold, terrible when warmed up

When I was building my 97 GSX, I ran into this same problem. I found that I had a bad vacuum leak. Of course, this was after I had done a tune up, changed the fuel pump, injectors, etc.

Let it warm up without driving. Set you idle a little higher by adjusting the idle screw on the throttle body to about 2500 or so. If it does the same while sitting then you can start checking for leaks. Acquire a can of starter fluid from your local auto store. Spray in different areas, short burst (DO NOT blanket the engine area) around the engine compartment, 1 at a time. If the idle changes then returns that is the rough area of the leak. Look around that area and see what it could be. Then you can start fixing the problem.

If not then you will need to get a vacuum tester. You can rent them (Autozone, Advance Auto, NAPA) or find a shop (though that would cost you more) that could check it for you.Follow the directions on the tester.
