It's the 'pull' type. Remove the 14mm nut from the fork shaft release lever. Removing Gear box From 2001 Hyundai Santa fe - 3996b16.gif
You'll have to manage to remove the release bearing from the pressure plate and return it to its slide shaft at the release fork on the transmission side before you can reinstall the trans (unless of course you're replacing them).
Go to http://www.hmaservice.com/ and register (vehicle by VIN). Afterward, you'll have access to technical information (manuals, wiring diagrams, service bulletins, etc) about your vehicle.

Stiff clutch on 2002 elantra , clutch and transmission new , slave clinder pushes wrong way ,whats wrong ?

FYI, the slave cylinder is pushing correctly, the clutch is the 'PULL TYPE', not the 'PUSH' type.
Go to www.hmaservice.com and register the vehicle by VIN #. You'll then have access to Shop Manuals, Wiring Diagrams, Illustrations, Service Bulletins, etc.

The clutch on the 2002 Elantra, as I mentioned, is the "Pull Type". Instead of 'Pushing' on the throw-out bearing, it "Pulls" on it. The pressure plate engages when the bearing is released (when it is 'pulled' back into the pressure plate 'fingers'

Was the new trans & clutch installed at an authorized Hyundai Service Department? If not, you might want to have them inspect the installation to determine what's wrong. If it WAS installed by a Hyundai Service Dept, take it back to them & tell them to FIX IT!

I need help replacing a clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing or clutch release bearing on a 2004 hyundai santa fe 2.4 l

It is a fairly easy job for any person to tackle providing they can handle tools, (some people can't turn a screwdriver), First you have to get the car up in the air with room to move under there, put it on jack stands if you can, but definitely on something so that when it comes down it doesn't squish your legs or your head. Pull the transmission, This will probably include the cross members and exhaust mounts, linkage, tranny mounts, drive shaft, could be a bunch of stuff in the way, once it is on the floor, you can remove the pressure plate off the back of the engine, pull off the clutch plate, note the condition of the flywheel, if it looks like dried mud, it needs to be surfaced. A burned flywheel will cause chatter, get the new clutch plate on there, first make sure it fits the tranny, real important, better to check now than when you are wrestling the tranny back in and it doesn't go because it is the wrong clutch spline, line up the clutch with the pinion bearing, it should slide right in nicely. Get the throw out bearing set before it goes back in, bolt it back together, you should be burning rubber and pulling wheelies again in no time. You might have to adjust the clutch slave cylinder pin if it has one, get more throw out of it. Or less. You might find some videos on youtube just for your car, but they are basically all the same.

Dont know what side the throw out bearing goes on the pressure plate or the shaft

After clutch is mounted & aligned to flywheel, bearing goes over input shaft of transmission before slid through the clutch assy, to flywheel. Don't forget bearing attaches to release fork.

Need instructions on removing hyundai santa fe 01 fan belt ac

its your serpentine belt (thats what its called) and you will need a 3/8 ratchet and then find the belt tensioner. The tensioner has a spot where you need to put the ratchet into and pull or push depending on whatever way and that will releive the pressure off the belt so you can take it off.

How do I get the clutch to release from the transmission on a evo

All 1996 Model Year and newer vehicles
equipped with manual transaxles except Accents
, which have the "push" type clutch system. SERVICE PROCEDURE:
  • Drain the transaxle gear oil.
  • The reference photo to the right shows the clutch related components as viewed from outside the transaxle case.
75c260f.jpg Loosen the release lever nut and washer
Separate the release lever by removing the snap pin and clevis pin.
Separate the release lever from the fork shaft.
Loosen the bolts attached to the release cylinder and separate the release cylinder from the transaxle assembly (no need to open the clutch hydraulic system).
  • Remove the transaxle assembly after removing each bolt attached to the engine assembly.
  • Remove the clutch cover assembly. The release bearing is still attached.
To separate the release bearing from the clutch cover, rotate the release bearing to gain access to the bearing snap ring.

Sounds like the clutch is slipping . You will need a new clutch assembly and fly wheel. Also make sure the crank shaft end play is not excessive.
