How much would it cost to replace a computer in a 2006 saab?

I do not know what is wrong, just that the computer needs to be replaced.

The problem with replacing modules in the newer Saabs is last time I checked they are unavailable/backorder and good used replacements are almost impossible to find. You may have to chalk that one up as irreparable unless you know some electrical genius that can repair or create a functional replacement. (i.e. if all the module does is honk horn and turn on headlights a good electrical engineer could make a 12 volt something to do that very inexpensively. Good luck and be safe!

SOURCE: key replacement cost 2008 Saab 7x aero

Is it just a "physical" fit problem?
Because if it is merely this and not your electronics you could always buy another key on ebay like this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310130782609

.......then all you would have to do is pop open the casing like you were going to remove the battery, instead pulling the little circuit board also and replacing it with your own one in your damaged fob!!

SOURCE: how do I replace my 2004 Saab 9 3 linear's water pump.

Re : the computer , they better cover it under warranty or they ****.
Re : the water pump , you have a leak and they say it is the water pump , I have no reason to doubt that they have honestly checked out the problem and determined that a new water pump is the only solution but , damn $ 1000 is pretty steep. I would look around for another mechanic for a second opinion and a quote. Avoid dealerships. Not sure what engine you have but i just looked in my saab with a 2.3 and hope I never have to do mine. I am pretty good with a wrench but I know there would be lots of swearing involved.

How to change head light bulb, drivers side, 2006 Saab 9-7X

Easiest way is to stick your hand in front of the battery and take the dust cover off, twist the bulb and done. I'm lucky, have smaller hands! lol, If you can't get to it, remove the battery for easy access.
The passenger side requires removal of the aircleaner box.

Have a 2002 saab 9-5 aero 95k on it just had a new fuel pump put on after car died. CEL light been on for 4 days. shop says it "got a code in the 1100's" told me it was a "valve"...

First use Tech2 for DTC.
Blahblah speach like "got a code in the 1100's" is useless ;)
For me it sounds like a crankshaft sensor, but I may be wrong.. Need more info to help you.

When should the timing belt be changed on a saab vector 1.9 Tid

Standard Answer for Timing Belts/Chains: 100,000 to 120,000 miles is when the Timing Belts/Chains start malfunctioning or failing. Some people want to go ahead and change them before malfunctions/failures happen.
I just replaced mine on 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan which just turned 100K. Most Timing Belt/Chain failures will cause more costly engine damage when these fail, including a need to replace/rebuild an entire engine.

Saab 9-5 air conditioner is out

Totally depends what is wrong. If it simply a leak somewhere, it could cost under $200: find the leak, replace the hose or fitting, done. If the A/C compressor has gone bad, it could be around $1200: new compressor, accumulator, labor to install.

Good Luck!

Just replaced the battery in a 2006 saab 9-3 and now the display is saying that the "key is unrecognizable". what do i need to do to make it read the key again?

You may have to take the car to the dealer to have them reprogram your TWICE unit using the TECH 2 to recognize the key. They will charge for that.
