First see what #2 spark plug looks like, probably time for a tune up. A compression test will verify engine is in good mechanical condition. Also check the 3 peice intake manifold for leaks - this is common, but ususally the miss smoothes out off idle if this is the case.

you can swap the plug wire with another of similar length to see if the misfire moves. I would still do a thorough check for vacuum leaks.

Blinking engine lightbout has good comoression, new plugs and wires, fuel fiter.also drinks the gas while blinking

You need to check that fault code, you have a misfiring engine cylinder. The fault code will indicate which cylinder or cylinders is casing the misfire. Go to any Autozone and have the fault code read, tell them you have a check eng light on.

Check engin light code misfire cylinder 1

You might need to give it new plugs and wires! Also check the plenum on top of engine for cracks! That can cause a misfire in cylinders! The plenum on a 3.8 V6 is hard plastic and cracks easy!

Check engine light is on, any speed above 30mph it gives a flashing check engine light, acceleration feels bogged down, engine idle is rough and shakes the truck

I'm guessing you have over 100000 miles , definitely replace all the spark plugs and ignition cables and cap and rotor if your motor is such equipped. If you want a better idea of which cylinders are misfiring, go to your local Checker or Autozone and ask them for code retrieval, codes stored will give you an idea of what is failing. Code po300 is multiple misfire, po301 is cyl #1, po302 is cyl #2 and so forth.

Misfire and want accelerate

If the car is misfiring that is most likely the reason you can't accelerate. If the check engine light is on you may be able to know for sure as it could have codes for engine misfire, and possibly even which cylinder is missing. This could be due to something simple like a bad or dirty spark plug, an ignition coil problem or possibly an engine issue but an issue like that will most likely be pretty severe with smoke in the tailpipe or loss of coolant or oil.
Start with the easiest thing. If the check engine light is on you need to find out what code is stored in the computer.

I just had had my intake manifold gasket replaced, now my check engine soon light is on blinking then steady. Motor bogs down at 3k rpms. Any ideas? Codes indicate knock sensor and misfire.

blinking stop turn off. restart if starts blinking again you should not drive it. on steady take to one of those places that checks for free auto parts store .write down the code if its related to the work you had done take it back, also were you had it worked on might of forgot to reconnegted something or nocked something loose

Car bogs down after getting hot, service engine light flashing, 95 ford taurus gl . I got a computer diagnostic done, said random misfires, and the 2 "O2" sensors. However, the tech told me it was the coil...

Have the following tests performed : fuel system pressure test cylinder balance test as well as a injector balance test. Preferable an ASE Certified Tech will do the testing.Depending on what he/she says wel'll take it from there. Gotta know why its misfiring before we do anything else. Cat and 02 sensor respond to engine's combustion process
exhaust product.Lets see what the testing says.
Keep me posted

Bogging down at bottom of gear when i give it more throttle

If after your replacement of parts and still getting the problem you described, I would have the coil checked. Also off hand I would check fuel pressure to make sure fuel filter is not going bad. Low fuel pressure will make it lag due to more air in system before fuel catches up. Just a thought. Good luck and have a great day.

Disconnect the battery completely, try turning the key with the battery disconnected. Put the battery back together. The check engine light should be off now..
