Question about 1995 Mazda Protege
Disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, reconnect the battery and your check engine light will be off.

First, the problem that caused the light to come on must be fixed. Afterwards you can either wait a few hundred miles and it will go off, or take it to a local Advance Auto or other chain parts store and they will turn it off for you.
