Do you hear the fuel pump prime for the first 2-3 seconds after Key-ON, Engine OFF? Was the fuel filter changed when the pump was replaced? Check the fuel pressure at the Schrader value. It should be 41-47 psi, and should not drop more the several pounds after prime.

That does happen ~ more often than you would think, unfortunately. The 2006 Cobalts seem to be falling to pieces right now, though. If you are still under warranty make them check and repair everything especially your computer.

SOURCE: car wont start, install new fuel pump ,if u dump

OK, first, let's clarify one point. Your 1986 Chevrolet Nova does not have a carburator, it is equipped with Throttle-body Fuel Injection.

You should be able to look into the throttle body and see fuel spraying from the fuel ijector while you are cranking the engine over. If not, then there is a whole list of things that could be causing the fuel to not spray. Here are some of the possibilities:

Low fuel pressure (for several possible reasons)
no B+ feed to injector (for several possible reasons)
bad crank sensor
bad PCM
broken injector wires
bad injector

If it runs with fuel poured down the throttle-body, it is definitely a fuel-delivery/fuel injection problem.

SOURCE: Engine runs extremely rough, seems to be fuel

Have you changed the plugs, if any are fouled out or if any are worn, it takes more to fire it under load and may be spark knocking because one of the plugs can't fire off all the gas and cause it to skip or idle rough.

I've replaced fuel filter, crankshaft sensor, everything spark related has been cleaned or new

Is the vehicle a chevy Understand I can't say for sure with out actully looking the thing .
But it kind of sounds like a fuel pressure regulator the rich smell of gas is a sign that its working wright
From what you have said it is a fuel problem but its unlikely a pump problem . Was the old fuel filter clogged or restricted and what differance if any did it make after you installed the new filter

Could I run a electric fuel pump on my 1998 Cadillac deville?

if it did not have an electric fuel before then the installation of an electric pump is a relatively easy process. If you have an electric pump already fitted but it has failed then remove it and install the new pump in its place. Take care to check all wires, fuses and relays and any pressure sensors for correct operation. Remove and blank of the opening for any mechanical pump on the engine
For new installation select an easily accessible place under the vehicle that can be protected from flying rocks and road debris. Run a power wire (red colour) from the run side of the ignition switch to the relay ( to be fitted ) near the battery or in the engine bay. Run this wire through an inline fuse close to the ignition switch to protect the circuit. attach to a coil actuation terminal of the relay.( look at the base of the relay for terminal identification. Run a black wire from the other side of the coil actuation pin on the relay to earth. Normally the same bolt that mounts the relay. Run a red wire capable of carrying 20 amps directly from the battery terminal through an inline fuse ( close to the terminal) to a power pin on the relay. Run another red wire from the outlet power pin on the relay to the electric pump. . Run an earth wire from the pump to earth.
This is a basic electric circuit for the installation of the pump. If there is a requirement for a pressure regulator or pressure sensor to control the pressure or pump operation , that control wire will be connected in series into the wire from the ignition switch so that when the pressure is reached then it breaks the circuit to the relay from the ign. switch and the pump will stop operation until the circuit is again completed. When the ignition switch is off there will be no power for the pump

2001 Buick Century. Fuel gauge didn't work. I bought a new fuel pump with fuel level sensor on it, installed, car will not start. I replaced the fuel pump relay, put the OLD fuel pump back in with...

I had a Grand Prix one time (basically the same car) that had a problem with the fuel pump harness. This harness plugs into the top of the fuel pump as you know, and into the floorboard underneath the car. Check the floorboard end for corrosion or broken wires.

Where reset switch for fuel pump is located

I know there is not one on the 96 models. I fought a fuiel pump related issue on our 96. There are several sensors that must be working before the fuel pump will run. Start with the crankshaft sensor, then look at the camshaft sensor, finally there is a relay that actually runs the fuel pump. The relay should be under the hood with the fuses.

Dodge dosen't use reset switches on the fuel pump circuit. The only company I know of that does is Ford and Ford companies like Mazda and Jaguar.

Hope helps.

There is a sensor (dont exactly remember witch 1) That is related with the ECM Motor That Gets The car Just Few Little rpms more wen you turn to encounter the HP needed for the powersteering pomp to be able to assist you turning.. i think its the Knock Sensor Not Sure You should look that up seriously cuz ive seen that kind of problem before, it was the sensor in default reading BUT you SHOULD be able to see the problem with OBD2 diagnostic, if not ask your mecanic to test the resistance of the sensor following the specs of the manufacturer

Hello

After the new sensors are installed and the code still comes back, replace the timing chain. They have been known to stretch and cause the P0335 code on these engines.
