How do I remove the engine fuse box in a 2003 Malibu? Where is the removal clip located?


Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls.
  3. Remove the nut retaining the positive battery cable lead to the underhood electrical center, then reposition the cable lead away from the electrical center.
  4. Remove the electrical center cover.

  8. Reach under the front of the electrical center and press up on the relief in order to release the retainer tab.

P0508 code on 2001 Honda CR-V how do I troubleshoot


Hello,

P0508 = Idle Air Control System Circuit Low

Symptoms:
Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) - Engine hard to start - Rough or erratic idle speed.

Causes:
Dirty throttle body - Electric throttle control actuator misadjusted or damaged - Faulty Electric throttle control actuator - Intake air leak - Poor electrical connection to the Intake Air Control (IAC) valve.

Solution:
If there are no intake leaks, clean throttle body, adjust engine idle and erase engine code. If the code comes back you may have to replaced the Electric Throttle Control Actuator (Motor) to repair the problem.

Engine Oil Pressure Sensor / Switch Replacement Removal & Installation 4.3L Engine To Remove:
Oil pressure sensor removal/installation (4.3L engine shown) gm-04-43-572.gif

  1. Clean the area near the oil pressure sensor.
  2. Remove the distributor.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil pressure sensor.
  4. Using J 41712 or equivalent, remove the oil pressure sensor from the fitting. NOTE: Note the orientation of the oil pressure sensor fitting before attempting to remove it. This is so it can be installed in the original position.
  5. Remove the oil pressure sensor fitting, if necessary.
To Install:
NOTE: If the fitting has been removed, clean and apply sealant to the threads before installing it.
  1. Install the fitting until snug, if it was removed.
    • Tighten the fitting to 11 lb ft (15 Nm). Continue to tighten the fitting until in the original position.
  2. Apply sealant to the threads of the sensor.
    • Install and tighten the sensor to 22 lb ft (30 Nm).
  3. Connect the electrical connector to the oil pressure sensor.
  4. Install the distributor.
  5. Check the engine oil level and adjust if necessary.
4.8L, 5.3L & 6.0L Engine To Remove:
  1. Remove the engine sight shield. chevy_aval15_02-04_opcon.gif

  2. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector. chevy_aval15_02-04_opsocket.gif

  3. Using J41712 sensor socket or equivalent, remove the oil pressure sensor.
To Install:
  1. Apply sealant GM P/N 12346004, (Canadian P/N 10953480), or equivalent, to the threads of the sensor.
  2. Using J41712 sensor socket or equivalent, install the oil pressure sensor.
    • Tighten the sensor to 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm).
  3. Connect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
  4. Install the engine sight shield.
6.6L Diesel Engine To Remove:
  1. Raise and safely support the vehicle NOTE: Clean the area around the sensor. Do not allow debris to enter the engine

  2. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Engine oil pressure sensor electrical connector
    • Engine oil pressure sensor using a suitable tool
To Install:
  1. Apply sealant to the threads of the oil pressure sensor
  2. Install or connect the following:
    • Engine oil pressure sensor and tighten the sensor
      1. Torque to: 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm)
    • Engine oil pressure sensor electrical connector
  3. Lower the vehicle
  4. If required, check and adjust the engine oil level
  5. Test drive the vehicle to confirm the repairs
8.1L Engine To Remove:
  1. Remove the engine appearance cover.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil pressure sensor.
  3. to remove the sensor.
To Install:
  1. If installing the old sensor, apply sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480), or equivalent, to the threads of the sensor.
  2. Using J 41712 or equivalent, install the sensor.
    • Tighten the sensor to 22 lb ft (30 Nm).
  3. Connect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
  4. Install the engine appearance cover.

Check the oil pressure sensor and the wiring to it.

Oil Pressure Sensor Removal & Installation 3.4L & 3.5L Engine To Remove:
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil pressure sensor. chev_vent_op-sen.gif

  4. Remove the oil pressure sensor from the engine.
To Install:
  1. Install the oil pressure sensor on the engine. Tighten 12 ft-lb (16 Nm).
  2. Connect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
  3. Lower the vehicle.
  4. Connect the battery ground cable.
  5. Start the engine and check for leaks.
3.6L Engine To Remove:
  1. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector. Oil pressure sensor 3.6L gm-04-36-2519.gif

  2. Remove the oil pressure sensor.
To Install:
  1. Install the oil pressure sensor. Tighten 15 ft-lb (20 Nm).
  2. Connect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.

Electric Engine Fan - Fan Switch

Removal & Installation
2.7L Engine
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Partially drain cooling system.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector .
  4. Remove engine coolant sensor from coolant outlet tube .
To install:
  1. Apply thread sealant to sensor threads.
  2. Install engine coolant temperature sensor into coolant outlet tube.
  3. Tighten sensor to 20 ft. lbs.(28 Nm) torque.
  4. Connect electrical connector to engine coolant temperature sensor .

3.2L And 3.5L Engines
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Partially drain cooling system.
  3. With the engine cold, disconnect coolant sensor electrical connector.
  4. Remove sensor.
To install:
  1. Install engine coolant temperature sensor.
  2. Tighten sensor to 20 ft. lbs.(28 Nm) torque.
  3. Attach electrical connector to sensor.
  4. Connect negative battery cable.
Removal & Installation
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Partially drain cooling system.
  3. Remove upper radiator hose.
  4. Disconnect cooling fan electrical connector.
  5. Remove cooling fan mounting bolts.
  6. Remove radiator cooling fan assembly from vehicle.

To install:
  1. Position radiator cooling fan assembly in vehicle.
  2. Install cooling fan mounting bolts. Tighten to 50 inch lbs. (6 Nm)
  3. Connect cooling fan electrical connector.
  4. Install upper radiator hose .
  5. Fill cooling system.
  6. Operate engine until it reaches normal operating temperature.
  7. Check cooling system and automatic transmission for correct fluid levels.
