Changing thermostats really isn't a regular service but certainly needs to be done sometimes. The spring can get stiff. Try changing it first as that is the cheapest and easiest fix. If not that, there are several things it could be, first and formost though the water pump.

Sounds like you need a new thermostat and you don't really need to change on a regular bases but remember the lower the price the shorter the life i recommend Duralast or Failsafe brand
here is a pictire to help you find the thermostat just folow the radiator hose on till you see the same thing.

Heater blows only cold air

Run engine untill warmed up, put your hand on the top radiator hose, is it hot, can you squeeze it ?
If not then change your thermastat.
If that does not help, you may have a bad head gasket.
Please let me know.

I want to know whether the corola 96 has two models or not because now i bought one corola 96 and some says it made in 97. on the other hand when I check car belt it is 96 and when I check on the car door...

Toyota did not make 'two' models of Corolla.

The production date determine what year the car is, With a build date of X / 97, that makes your car a 1997 model. On some of the Corollas, however, mid-year production changes dictate that you supply the build date to obtain certain parts, as they may have been updated during the production run.

'95 Corolla Engine Question

An engine from another Corolla up to 1997 will fit. There are 2 engines though. 4A-fe (1.6L) or a 7A-fe (1.8L) They look similar but run different Engine managment computers. The 4A-fe uses a 3spd auto trans and the 7A-fe uses a 4spd auto trans. Also some of the wiring may be different.
Hope this helps.

Hi Venci,

Yes you can...make sure that the cowling will fit onto your radiator, or change the fan into the original cowling.
