the fan relay switch is under the drivers side dash, you need to remove panel, then slide upside down to view relay switches, fan relay is in first row next to large relay second over.

I can not get my cooling fan to start no matter how hot my 1991 corvette gets i took it to the shop and tthey ssaid they could force the fan on what's wrong?

well there can be three things wrong, If the mechanic actually umped hte fan then there can only be one of two things wrong with it. 1. the fan relay or the fan temperature switch. the relay is the easiest to test as you can just swap it out with the horn relay and try honking the horn. Horn works then its the fan temperature switch. Horn does not work it is the relay.

Good Luck

93 century cooling fan dose not run

First check fan fuse and relayand switch. You can change relay with another with the same part number to see if that relay is bad. Then check power to and from fan switch if switch has power coming in and not going out then your switch is bad. Replace switch. If fuse and relay are good check for power at the fan and if you have power at the fan then that means that your fan motor is bad,Replace fan motor.HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

Continous cutting of fan even after changing alternator and related purlins. So what is the problem?

Check these parts........... First check the TEMPERATURE/RADiATOR FAN SWiTCH, it is connected on ur RADiATOR, w/ 2 wires connected to it, at certain temperature the switch turns ON ur FAN MOTOR, by disconnecting it and JUMP/SHORT the 2 wires FAN MOTOR should run, even when u just turn on the ignition! If the FaN runs, u got temp switch prob and needs to replace, If the fan didn't run when u shorted the wire in the switch. Check the RELAY, located in the ENGiNE FUSE box, pull out the relay and replace it w/ another relay, while ur 2 wires in the temp switch is on and ur ignition is in the ON position, when the relay clicks and the fan runs, u have a GOOD relay, if not u have to replace the RELAY! Hope that explains everything! Taah!

My radiator fans are not working and I am afraid that the fan relay went out and am going to check it tomorrow. Will it hurt anything to straight wire the fan to always run?

well you see the relay is built to switch a higher current circuit using a smaller current. it is a safety hazard as using just a toggle switch will allow too much current to flow thru the circuit. you should replace the relay. now if after you replace the relay the fans dont work but the fans are good(ran power wire directly to fan for testing purposes) then as a temporary measure you wire a switch to Control thr relay(relay actually handles the fan current). find the fan relay. it should have 5 pins. on the case of the relay there should be a diagram.

the numbering should be the same.

using an ohm meter checkthe relay socket pin86 with red lead, black lead connected to ground. if zero ohms, then that is ground and pin85 of relay socket is +. pin30 should read 12 volts with meter, run wire from here to one side of a toggle switch located near steering wheel so you can access it when you start car. other side of toggle switch runs to pin85.with the small wires into the relay socket still in place, plug in relay. throw toggle switch to on and if everythings connected, fans should come on.

Where is the air conditioner blower fan relay on 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee located?

The blower fan relay is located in the fuse box on the driver's side fender-well. A Jeep Cherokee uses an electric fan as an auxiliary fan for engine cooling and for cooling the air conditioning condenser when the air conditioning is in operation. A radiator temperature-sensing switch that activates the fan relay at 198 degrees F turns the fan on and controls its operation. The temperature drops when the vehicle is in motion and the switch turns the fan off. When the air conditioning system is in operation, the air conditioning relay supplies power to the fan relay via a fan diode downstream from the ignition switch. This diode activates the fan relay and keeps the fan operating as long as the air conditioning is on. Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

AC/heating fans don't work

The relay center is under the hood, there should be several with the same #'s switch one that you know is working in place of the fan relay, if fans turn on replace relay. It is faster to turn on ac after switching relays for diagnostics as fan should run as long as ac is on...

Condensor fan motor inop - fuse good but replaced anyway - replaced relay. put 12 volts to motor and it worked. what activates the relay to send power to the motor ????

Either radiator fan switch or AC system fan activate relay. Check fan switch or look for AC fan motor fuse. Wiring diagram would help.

Cooling relay switch

Relay is in the power distribution center near the battery. does the fan go off when you remove the relay? Relay is turned on by the computer after it receives info from the temp sensor. Why didn't the "guy" order a new relay? Was he a tech in a shop?
