I checked timing chain and was full of gas and oil mixture, so I changed oil and filter. Took out 3 spark plugs turned key gas shot out. Now I am changing FUEL REGULATOR????? I have a new starter, fuel filter, plugs and wires, Injectors, changed battery, and I hope the regulator does the job. Any other ideas PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

Motor turns over no spark to plugs installed coilpaks

Check to make sure you have injector pulse while cranking vehicle using a noid lamp. If the injector is pulsing that is a good sign that the anti-theft system is not disabling the system, then check the camshaft/crankshaft sensors to start with also dewd ;p

97 cavalier starts and runs ok from a cold start after a few minutes of warm up it starts to run rough and miss. If i try to drive it it will start out ok but won't shift automaticly but shifts fine m

Sounds like possibly more than on problem, crankshaft position sensor, or ignition module likely on starting prob which maybe affecting shifting due to hard code in ecm, or shift prob could be shift solenoid in valve body of transmission. Both parts readily available from local parts store

97 cavalier, won't start, turns Problem with the Chevrolet Cavalier 1997 Cavalier 97 cavalier, won't start, turns over and pops a little, has spark and fuel. checked plugs and wires. 2.2 liter, quit on...

I just had this problem with a Sunfire that had the 2.2...I found the timing chain tensioner broke apart and not the car out of time.If it is the tensioner you will probably want to drop the oil pan and make sure there are not and particles of the tensioner in there.

There is no spark thus car won't start. the battery is fine, it turns over good, it is not flooded, the spark plugs are new, the ignition coil was just replaced, what else controls the spark

The Crankshaft Position Sensor and the Ignition Control Module also control the spark. It depends on whether your vehicle is equipped with the 2.2L engine or the 2.4L engine as to where these components are located and what they look like.

Replace the coil pack. You can try to reset the anti theft by disconnecting the battery cables for 24 hours.

Sterring problems

Sounds to me like you might have to replace your cv shaft they tend to make an odd clunking noise at regular patterns in turns.
