Well actually if it is a 2003 with a 6.0 litre diesel in it then good luck fitting a standard breaker bar in there in the right position to relieve tension, it requires an actual serpentine belt tool with an ofset to do it that way. How ever if you have some good fore arms or a second person to help you you dont need any tools, heres how...

first locate the tensioner on the left side of the engine if your facing it from the fron of the vehicle...

now feel around it on the bottom side you will feel a springy sort of tab on the side of it, that is a locking tab once the tensioner is fully relieved you can just hold it against the shaft and let go it will lock the tensioner open so to speek, so basically all you really have to do is grab the belt and yank on it while pressing the tab against the shaft it will lock and the belt slips right off then route the belt and when every thing looks lined op (grooves and all) simply give the beld another tug and let is go violla no tools required. hope this helps you.

This ones easy

obtain new belt from supplyer

with a 1/2 breaker bar or a large pry bar
locate the square hole on the belt tensioner
(the pully with a big spring on it)
push it to the right this will remove the tension off it
now the belt will slip off all the pullys
(caution Do not just let the tension pully go let off slowly)
it will break off it does have about 80 lbs of force behind it

the belt diagram for how to route new belt is printed right infront of the radiator

When do i need to change a timing belt on a 1995 1.9td umwelt vw passat estate it has done 140000 miles with fsh should it be due soon?

Most US cars recommend change at 60,000 miles. I would say that you have gotten your money's worth out of the original belt. Some engines suffer piston and valve damage if the belt breaks.

Does 98 toyota camry have timing belt or chain? When do I know if it needs to be replaced? Has 140000 miles on it. Have been told if belt snaps, it can destroy engine.

Both the 4 and 6 cyl. engines in this car have belts. The 4's don't last as long because they lack a tensioner and get noisy. Toyotas for the most part do not get hurt when the belt breaks. non interference engines...nice huh?

97 Gmc Savana,6.5 turbo diesel vacuum pump not rotating

If the pump is not rotating all the time then it's due for replacement. They are not supposed to stop while engine is running. 227K miles is a lot of miles for any engine component.
