Deadzones I was driving in Southern Montana and couldn't get a signal. My call was dropped and I had no phone service. If the onstar signal is off a satellite, how do I not have service?

Your title says what kit you prefer... From what little I know about OnStar... "OnStar FMV" appears to be the (SMART) MIRROR
approach... My best recommendation would be to get YOUR
"FMV" from CRUTCHFIELD (see below)...

"PAIN-LESS AND WELL DONE"

I checked ontar.com and your car IS ON-STAR capable...

Sadly I always make things more complex than they need to be:
I don't think the LINCOLN "sound system" is inferior in ANY WAY... and think there has got to be a better solution than by-passing an already REALLY EXCELLENT human interface...
for a "SMART MIRROR" (FMV)... So BEFORE you choose THAT SOLUTION... I would ask you to find out WHAT SERVICES
are presently in your existing MIRROR.

CRUTTHFIELD technicians can do that for you... Phone them... Talk to them...

ELSE take it to your LINCOLN DEALER and ask what service THEY COULD equip in a new car... BECAUSE I can't park without my CAMERAS any more

(just kidding... never scuffed a tire!!).

Years ago CRUTCHFIELD offered a 3-SIXTY-3 solution for my NAVIGATOR... radio navigation system to integrate BLUETOOTH.
I was QUITE DELIGHTED to deal with their technical staff

I have felt the EXTRA SECURITY of knowing the VEHICLE is being tracked... (watched over)... and felt quite secure

I think onstar is a much safer choice than fumbling with your cell-phone trying to use siri while driving.

Onstar is not a phone. It is a service. It cost you money. Push the green button and you will get Onstar/operator. They will guide you threw it. No Onstar, the module is probably bad.

Use a Cellphone picture or a video camera to record the problem in the act. Then you will have something to show. This problem always in the same area? Sometimes aircraft, transmitters and deadzones prevent signals.

its designed to turn off speaker system when u use onstar or make a phone call if ur onstar is causing a problem when not activated notify onstar by phone to talk to a tech

if the vehicle is equipped with onstar call them and request a vehicle unlock. otherwise a tow truck driver should have the tools to get into it.

On certain models of cars both foriegn and domestic they have a OnStar button, it may be Mazda's answer to OnStar, I would call the Mazda dealership and ask for the service center, and ask them what that button is for.........Hope this helps.

TAKE IT TO A DEALER THEY WILL DEACTIVATE IT FOR YOU. THERE IS A SPECIAL POLICY FOR ONSTAR DEACTIVATION. IT SHOULDN'T COST YOU ANYTHING.
