Question about 1993 Isuzu Trooper
'93 Isuzu Trooper, 4wd, LS/170,000 miles. Three fuel pumps have failed in the past four months. The latest pump, installed today, had power, clean fuel. The fuel tank was examined (no debris). The car started and ran for 30 seconds and the motor stopped. The pump had 12.5 V with key on, 14.5 V with motor running. Help!!
Do an ohms test on wiring loom if any higher than approx 5ohms when everything is disconnected bad connection. this can still show good voltage but pump not getting enogh amps(current) so it burns out windings in pump
are old pumps open circuit?
test with ohms meter
if so check that wiring and connector pin tensions

Check your Ground wires or cut them and make a solid ground to the frame. Your fuel pump probably has a faulty ground but not on the power plug on the ground plug or the other end of it where its going to or maybe its severed somewhere.
