Question about 1965 Ford Mustang

1 Answer

I just want to know how to recharge my air conditioning system on my 1965 Mustang convertible.I bought the car already reconditioned. It includes an air-conditioning system that I think is aftermarket. The system probably leaks a little. I want to find out how to recharge the system myself and whether or not I could get away with just buying a recharger bottle from an auto parts store.

You need to know what refridgerant was in it

134a is all you can buy

it can be converted but you should let a person who has done it before ,do yours

that way it will last for years

I have a 65 ford mustang, perfect conditions, however i think its time for a check up, but i dont know where to take it and im afraid of the cost

If you've got a 65 Mustang in perfect condition, don't worry about the cost. The car's worth more than you think! I'd find a classic car club to jion and ask other members who they trust. Many of them won't answer but a few will. Otherwise, check your local BBB for car repair shops with good ratings.

Fuel gauge in 1965 Mustang Coupe is not working

on the front of the tank, meaning toward the front of the car, there is the sending unit, it is round and has a fuel line and one wire attached to it. disconnect the wire from the tank and temperarily ground it, then turn the key on and watch the gauge. if it goes to full you will know that the problem is it the tank. if it does nothing then you will have to trace the wire or check the guage.

1964 1/2 mustang beinig rebuilt. A new 302 engine

That's because the 302 and the 260 don't share the same accessory bolt patterns. If it's a dealer installed AC the mounting may be "custom". If you still have the original engine, transfer the bolt hole positions, drill and tap. Good luck. Measure twice!

Putting together the 3 bows for convertible top

Do yourself and your Mustang convertible a favor. Have the top professionally installed. The bows are position sensitive and require adjustment so the top fabric is stretched just right. I had a 66 drop top that needed just fabric and I still paid a pro to do it.
