Hi , remove the brake light bulb and look at where the bulb contacts the holder , you may find that you have a hole burned into the holder where the contacts have been arking , if this is the case you will need a replacement kight unit , reagards mark

Hi Efren. I would check fuse number #5 and #52. Both these fuses power the diagnostic connector. It is possible that fuse #31 and #54 may be blown as well.

Check brake linings light on in bmw x5 when i turn engine off and brake light is on

One of your wheel sensors has triggered - needs brakes OR sensor has come undone. Sensors are on left front and right rear calipers. Brake light is on = low fluid. Get your brakes checked

Just had the battery replaced. The 2001 BMW X5 brake and abs lights are on. Is this a Battery problem, fuse or what?

This sounds like a low-brake-fluid-pressure symptom. Check brake fluid. Next check for leaks.

More info?, let me know...

1st verify that the brake lights work, if not replace the burnt bulb, if they are ok then the warning module is defective.
