Question about Dodge Dakota
I need timing specs for a 2001 dodge dakota2.5L. Right now it is running 12 deg out and it is lacking power
If it's out that far & you didn't say advanced or retarded, then there's a mechanical issue at hand, more than likely. Use a vaccuum guage & see what happens. If it's reading below 15, better check the timing chain. Could also be a blocked cat converter. The timing is computer controlled & rarely has a problem. Factory is 10 degrees advanced & doesn't change no matter what unless you unplug the coolant sensor & move the distributor. So if it's 12 advanced,no big issue,it's something else causing the lack of power. If it's retarded, you got the timing chain issue more than likely. Write back if you need more help.
