- Faulty Park/Neutral Position Switch
- Misadjusted Park/Neutral Position Switch
- Park/Neutral Position Switch harness is open or shorted
- Park/Neutral Position Switch circuit poor electrical connection
what I do is call the persons that hit me, insurance co. and tell them
(demand) a donor car and a shop tow.
that is what i do, but i have collision ins and , the uninsured motorist too. and low ded, on both.
i assumed you were hit, and not you backing up.
your cars electric system is all messed up. check fuse first.
if savvy, check all connectors associated with failed objects.
I tried to deal with their insurance company and they won't cover my rental because the repair shop told them my gear shift was sticking due to debris and residue caked on it but they never bothered to put it on the machine to get the sensor reading and when they did, they said take it to any mechanic and if its from the accident to call them. They'll send someone out and determine whether it was or not. I'm at my wits end. Is there any way I can possibly check it myself? If so where do I even begin? The mechanic I took it to said he paid $600 out of pocket for parts and still can't fix it.
play hard ball, tell them you want the car exactly like before the accident , you will take legal action, this wakes them up. do not cheat them but do demand equal condition, the car should have never left the shop and should have been fixed now, if the mech is compatent. (ASE shop)?
tell the insurance co. (not yours, theirs) they will attemp to cheat you, never seen it otherwise. be ready/
thanks!

Here is what the code means.
http://engine-codes.com/p0705_mitsubishi.html
P0705 Mitsubishi Description
The park/neutral position (PNP) switch includes a transmission range switch. The transmission range switch detects the selector lever position when the shift lever is in the N or P shift position and sends a signal to the Transmission Control Module (TCM).
When is the code detected?
The transmission range switch detects the selector lever position and sends a signal to the TCM.

o i already know. they told me they dont have ASE mechanical shops only repair shops. and that i have to get it sent to a repair guy of my choice and then notify them as to whether it was from the accident or not.
