It uses R134a, and the capacity depends upon whether or not the vehicle has rear air conditioning. There should be a sticker by the blower to let you know.
most cars have it printed on decal the body under hood it will say 134-a capacity 2.3lb ,when adding Freon allways follow detailed instructions .if system has been emptied you may have to use Freon with oil in it
There should be a sticker on the hood, radiator support, or hvac housing with the capacity. If the system is empty and you have pulled a vac, I would start with 4 cans and then add as needed.
Suggest lots of possibilities...I assume it is NOT a TSi... so no Turbo.
If all vacuum lines are attached and in good shape, then you can have a back pressure issue, preventing the flow of burnt gas out of the engine, and therefore a low vacuum.
If you find that the Cat. converter is clogged (strong possibility...) the you can buy one...
differnt for every model. look at the tag on the top of the radiator support or on the firewall. its federal mandate the system type and capacity be listed is engine compartment
It might be an over sight, but is the recharge can been punctured?? With the recharge hose connected to the service port and the R134a can. close the valve and then open the valve to let the R143a empty out in the system. If you have done that and the compressor has not come on to pull the R134a out of the can, shake the can till the compressor activates to pull the R134a in to the system. In this case you may need up to thee cans, your system has a capacity of 1 pound and you only have a 12 ounce can. Good luck and don't over charge the system. Keep me posted, be glad to help.
