On the driver side of the throttle body/ carb. It is a black screw on sensor with( it should be) a 3 wire plug into it

    he probally knows he needs one from a system diagnostics check. thats how i know i need one but didnt know where its located. Did i blow you r mind?

Code po 107 comes up on my 98 chevy pu map/baro circuit low input already change the map sensor and find that there is no power in the plugwhat do I change now?


You may need a wiring diagram to make sure, but I think the gray wire is reference voltage and it also powers the throttle position sensor. The sensors get power from the engine computer.

1997 chev cavalier 2.2 ohv. hesitates when accelerator pedal applied. Completely tuned up 6 k ago,(except fuel filter), new o2 and coolant sensor. What is my next move.,


The TPS which is the throttle positioning sensor has an open in its circuit. Most auto parts stores will have this common part for you cars engine

need to get codes to repair, have seen alot of these vehicles go thru the throttle position sensor which is the complete throttle pedal assembly

2001 Cavalier throttle position sensor


Look where your throttle cables etc are attached at throttle body, it should be at opposite end of the shaft that operates throttle plate in front of throttle body opening. Usually held on with Torx screws

Reinstall of Starter 1998 2.4L Chev Cavalier

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable at the battery.
  2. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  3. Remove the electrical connections from the back of the starter.
  4. Remove the bell-housing cover.
  5. Remove the starter support bracket bolt from the engine block.
  6. Unfasten the starter motor-to-engine bolts, then carefully lower the starter.
  7. Remove the nuts/bolts that hold the starter support bracket to the starter.

To install:
  1. Transfer the starter support bracket to the new starter if the starter is being replaced.
  2. Raise the starter into position and secure the starter using the starter motor-to-engine bolts. Tighten the bolts to 32 ft. lbs. (43 Nm).
  3. Install the starter support bracket-to-engine bolt to 24 ft. lbs. (32 Nm).
  4. Install the bell-housing cover.
  5. Install the starter electrical connections on the back of the starter. Tighten the S terminal to 22 inch lbs. (2.5 Nm) and the battery terminal to 106 inch lbs. (12 Nm).
  6. Carefully lower the vehicle, then connect the negative battery cable.

Temp gauge off charts


Are you mistaking the engine temp sensor for the engine temp sending unit? The temp sensor is for the fuel injection system and the temp sending unit is for the gauge. If you asked for a sensor thats what they sold you. You need to ask for a sending unit.

96 cavalier 2.4 starts runs great -chokes


Check the crankshaft position sensor. If the plug is loose or the sensor itself is bad it will cause similar problems
