Problem for Peugeot Cars

206 HDi 1999 battery light started com...

206 HDi 1999 battery light started comming on intermittently at first verry briefly. gradually over a couple of months it became more regular until last week it was on more than off. when it came on i heard a relay under the dash clicking which i later found out was the air con. now the battery is not charging. any ideas where to start looking? It seemed to start when giving my daughter a driving lesson (hard braking)

u need to replace the alternator, that is what the battery light is indicating, low/no voltage output from the alternator to the battery.
