is the child lock on ? look at the inside edge of the door , the bit you cant see when shut , there should be a small metal tab that can be slid up/down this locks interior door handle hence called child lock, if not this then will have to remove door panel and check that the door handle and linkage mechanism are correctly adjusted/fitted

Rear passenger door on a 2006 nissan sentra wont open from the inside or the outside

If power windows and the same window does not open the child safety switch is a very good possible reason.

Cant open back doors how to open them

It is unusual for both rear doors to have this problem. If they are seldom used they can "stick" however. If you have power door locks and you can see the knob moving when the switch is pressed, chances are the doors are not locked when "unlock" is pressed.

Make sure they are unlocked by pulling up firmly on the lock knob by hand. If that fails, the doors may just be "stuck". Have you tried pulling the inside handle and pushing outward on the door from the inside while a helper lifts the outside handle and pulls outward.

If the doors have "child safety locks" you should only be able to open door from the outside when the safety lock is on.

The passenger side door on my 2006 Pathfinder will open from the inside but not using the outside handle. I removed the inner door pannel but did not see anything obvious. What should I look for? Thanks!

Is it REAR passenger door?
DO NOT overlook the small switch on the "CHILD PROOF" safety switch.

This can be your problem if it's only occur on the two rear doors.

I couldn't open my back door of my car from the outside and then my sister decided to put child lock on and now I can't open it from inside or outside. With out being able to open the door to take it apart...

It sounds like it could be the plastic connecting bit that links the outside door lever to the rod that operates the door mechanism, has broken or become disconnected. To check, you will need to remove the trim on the inside of the door, after removing any screws and the inside door lever and window winder. However now that the child safety lock has been set it could be very difficult to get the door open.
All I can suggest is that you look at the other rear door to locate the position of the safety tab and then try to disengage it by using a suitable thin blade or something on your bad door so that you can again use the inside lever.

Once you have the inside trim off and the plastic sheet, you will see an access hole for the door mechanism and the outside operating handle of the door. It should be attached to the actuating rod by the aforementioned plastic bit. If plastic bit appears OK try re-attaching it or replacing it if broken. If the part of the outside handle which attaches to the rod is broken the handle will need replacing.

1994 Ford Explorer, both back doors wont open. I think the child locks are locked on, but I can't open them from the outside either, I have the door skin off of one of them. Is there a pin or latch I can...

if you can open the door from the outside of the truck when you look at the backside of the door you should see a little opening for the child safety locks one way locks the door so it cant be opened from the inside the way other way unlocks the safety latch the door should be able to be opened from the inside and outside of the truck

Meaning you can't open the door from inside the vehicle? If so, check the child safety switch right on the given door. If you're referring to the door handle from the outside and it wouldn't open, you may have a faulty door opener and have it checked.
