If it's cooling properly while in motion, then it's most likely the fans aren't kicking in. Check fuses for the fans and also the temp switch that controls the fans.
Also, in a pinch situation, if out on the road and it starts overheating, roll down the windows, and turn the heater on full blast with the fan blowing...it''ll be uncomfortable, but your heater core can act as an emergency radiator...

The heat actually controls the a/c unit. Same with the fan system. A/C should only be used while in motion. Do not use A/C while still. Check to make sure your fans are running if you are still for long period of time

Timing belt

Cant find spark plugs for 2001 kia sportage


You have to remove intake, spark plug's sit under it.Not as bad as it look's to do the job.

Timing belt broke on my kia sportage...


Check solutions for Kia Sportage under heading. Need timing marks and ignition wiring by Brattlehead. The markings I gave him will also work for your 2001 Sportage

There are only two wires to replace because of the two coil packs that sit directly on the other two plugs.

I have a 2001 kia sportage and it will start but it will only go 35 to 40 mphs I want to know what can be the problem?


igniion modules overheat!
thus no spark sometimes it will start when it cools down mabe 20 minutes or more

Have the radiator mounted fan checked.

It may not be turning on when the A/C is used.

2001 Kia Sportage runs rough


Yes my frend open the bonnet and stand infront of the car, on the left hand side between the engine and the boddy there is a black round container with pipes going into it. next to the container there is a vacume switch, 99% of the time this pipes going into the switch is brohen or the pipe is leaking.
