It is off the reciever/dryer. It has attachment that looks like tire valve

96 crown vic keeps going dead while driving

if your looking for us to guess at what you discribe is happening then most likley you will be replacing parts needlessly. This needs to be diagnosed with tools to try to find out the reason.

find your evaporator inlet outlet lines on the fire wall usually near heater core inlet outlet lines. then follow both lines until you find the one that goes to the compressor. that is your low side and the port should be on there

When a/c or vent is on, heater will come on blowing hot air. 1996 for crn vic. Regardless of the temp setting.

I have the same problem and asked an air conditioner mechanic what he thought. He said that the problem is a bad module under the dash that works a door that guides the air through the heater core or switches to the air condenser by the dash switch. He told me he could not fix it because he was too old and it would take a young man or woman to work under the dash.

Crown vic will not start

replace the idle air control motor. but first look 4 a vacum leak under the hood. just lift the hood with engine running and lisen for a air leak.
