Question about 1997 GMC Jimmy
Unless you have some kind of a press to press the old one out and the new one in, better take and have it done.
Need to take the tire off
brake calipar and rotor and bracket off
take the 4wd locking hub assembly out
there is nuts and locking rings in there
pull the axel. Pull cotter pin from nut on ball joint stud, take off nut, separate ball joint from steering knuckle with seperator tool, then you need to press out the joint, sometimes the top joint has to be taken off too. It's a job, and you need the right tools. If you don't get the 4wd assembly back the same way, you have 4wd problems.
