Sounds like you need to get it topped up with the special gas they use. You can get these kits in Halfords or probably even on EBAY. There will also be people who specialise in this.

Why wont' my a/c system blow cold air after adding freon?

Hmmmmmm, There is a lot more to AC systems sometimes.

Is the clutch on the AC compressor turning when you have the AC on? How much pressure is currently in the system? Does it have AC in the back of the vehicle?

I have no cool from my AC. How can I figure out, anything is wrong with compressor or there is no freon?

Crystalbr453,

If the AC is not being blown cold there could be a few things wrong. However, the best place to start would be with a recharge of the system. If you push the AC button and you feel the system kick in but not cold air is present I would definitely point at no freon. In which case, you do not want to run it without freon.

Good luck

Air conditioning works great but will sometimes get to putting out warm air. What causes this?

I have had this problem before, In my case i took it to my local machanic and we discovered i had high imput causeing the ac compressor to over charge. and the freon that makes teh cold air, needs to be heated really hight to make the reverse affect of cold air. In return over heating and shutting down blowing hott air for it to cool off. I needed to replace the part that the electrical wire clips into.

How to troubleshoot the electrical air conditioning system 2000 GMC Yukon Denali. I put in new resistor, relay and dealer blower motor and it still doesn't do anything. Air conditioning control switch...

The compressor on the air conditioner in my 2000 GMC Yukon XL went out last summer. Had it and the whole line replaced at a local air conditioning shop last fall. Used it little before cold weather. Warm weather this spring and no cold air. We could hear the compressor trying to kick in. The shop told us that the control console was bad and had to be replaced. They told us the part was on back order and did not know if they would be abel to get one any time soon. We took the Yukon into the local GM dealership. They told us that the high side fitting was bad and that the freon was very low and that they would have to deal with that first to check the system. Called back to the air conditioning shop and they said they had a console come in and they would put it in and check the high side fitting. I now have cold air and questions. Bought Yukon in 2005 used, had always had problem of not switching to cold air once the heater has been used. We were told changing the console should fix that. It has not changed. I feel like the console angle was a scam, that the system was just low on freon. Each shop was blaming the other for trying to scam me. And what can fix the heat to cold issue? If anyone has answers I would sure appreciate the knowledge.

Air conditioner does not blow cold air.

Your freon level is most likely low. You can either take your vehicle to a mechanic to charge your a/c system or go to your local auto parts store and purchase a can of freon with a gauge and hose on it. Read the instructions and charge your system with freon.

How do I add freon to the A/C on my 1993 Subaru Impreza ?

Hi DO NOT BYPASS the tryrister switch!!!!!!!!!.

You can safely add R12 (freon) from a can with the system not running ,when you have enough gas and oil mix added to the system the compressor will stsart automatically the problem you have is not knowing if there is a leak in the system,as you need to check this as venting R12 to the atmosphere can land you in prison if caught !!!!,.The best advice I can give you is take the car to an Air-con specialist and he will carry out all the checks on the system for you and re-gas the system properly.
