First start with the basics. Check your battery connections, take them off and clean with wire brush or sand paper both the battery post and the cable ends on the inside where they contact the battery. Also check the amperage in the battery volts wont start the car you have to have good amperage. If these check fine check the starter soldnoid. Use a test light and make sure it gets current when the key is turned to start. If not you have a bad neutral safty switch or wiringto the sold. or ignition switch problem. If it gets current make sure it goes thru the switch if not replace sold. If it goes thru switch cable from sold. to starter is bad since you said the starter tested good. Good luck.

If the old solenoid had a bad short it may have put your new starter out of commission. Have the starter tested-it should still have warranty for repllacement.

The fuses should be either 0 or 12v depending on whether or not they have power on them. Replace them or pull them ad test with a continuity tester. Then work from there.

1994 ford tempo will not start only clicks

Hook your voltage tester to the battery, then have a helper try to start the car. Watch the voltage when you hear the click. If it drops much under 12v then odds are the battery is no good. Have it load tested at your local autoparts store

95 explorer on start it just clicks . relay and battery are ok can you help me to next steps

Always start with good clean secure battery terminal connections also check other end of both wires for same. Check battery with a voltmeter. Check trigger wire on relay fro 12v when key is turned to start, check main wire on starter for 12v with key on start. Check battery voltage with key on to start if voltage drops to below 9.5 starter is bad. Before changing starter, make sure you can turn the engine by hand (with key off) If you can't, don't bother with starter. Before beginning any testing battery should also be load tested to make sure it has amperage as well as voltage capacity to start car.

2004 saab 9-3 not starting

Before condemning your starter, use a volt meter and check to be sure that your battery has 12v (items you mentioned are "low draw" and do not require anywhere near the amps that a starter uses) Then check to make sure connections at the battery are clean and secure (on the contact surfaces where it matters) this applies to both ends of those cables, not just the battery end. Then, if necessary, check the small wire on the starter (trigger wire) to make sure there is 12v there when you turn the key to "start". If not, the problem is elsewhere, not the starter. If voltage is present, and all tests are good, then it's safe to replace the starter.
Takes longer to write this than it does to make tests!
Good luck!!

91 festiva wont start

First make sure that the battery is charged up all of the way and that a positive 12V current is reaching the positive terminal of the starter motor. You can test it with an inexpensive 12V test light available from any auto parts store for about $10. You need that for diagnosing any electrical problems if you have checked the fuses and they are all good. Its also possible that the fusable link got shorted out and that will stop the car from turning over. The fusable links are 3 wires sticking up from a small box on the drivers side shock mount in the engine compartment. Check that they are not burned. If all of that is good, then use your test light to see if 12V current is reaching the ignition switch under the plastic cover behind the steering wheel and on the opposite side of the key.

is the earth cable giving a good engine and body contact.does your starter have two terminals and if so are they the right way around?is the battery any good?Is the engine able to be turned over by hand Make sure you have agood 12v supply to the starter solenoid when cranking the engine An engine test probe/light would be of a lot of use for you to do that test
