Heatistate when frist step on gas - 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

clogged fuel filter or the fuel pump is just dying out

could be a bad fuelpump or a drity fuel filter change the fi;er frist and see if it helps.goodluck

It almost sounds as if the rev limiter is kicking in.

frist you need to empty the gas tank. then place the car on Jack stands.

there is going to be a hose that connected to the gas gas tank near the back of the tank you will have to disconnect that.
I placed a floor jack under the gas tank with a peice of wood between the tank and the jack for support. there are 3 straps that hold the tank up you will need to remove them.

then lower the tank to the floor. there are two hoes that are connect to the fuel pump that need to be disconnected but mark them so that you remember where they go. now disconnect the fuel pump electical plug.

silde the tank from under the car, and unsrew the fuel pump ring and pull the fuel pump out.

place the new fuel pump back in the same way you took it out and reverse the steps that you did to remove it.

you may want to replace the fuel filter also at the same time.

check for restricted fuel filter first..

my first thoughts would be the 5th gear synchro

you may need so cab/ fuel injection work but try this frist some STP gas treatment with fuel injection cleaner along with some Shell gasoline wish you the best of luck Michigan Man
