Had a similar issue and solved it by removing the seat to get access. The mechanism is actuated by a motor which rotates a long thread through a metal housing connected to the chair. Either this metal housing is fixed on the thread or the thread is completely at the end and is jammed stuck. Now loosen the bolt and remove the axis. Spray some WD40 and wait a short while to get the oil crawling in.
Take a screwdriver and place it in the opening and put some force, but don't overdo else you may need a replacement spare (which will it too). If it is still stuck, like mine as I was too gentle, I tried another go with WD40 and repeated the same again, with success.
Once loose, think about lubrication before you assemble, as it is not easy reach. (free learning)

Hello. I sprayed all of the thread with WD40 and as I flicked the switch up and down, I used a light hammer to knock the end of the motor and get the thread unlocked. I think this happens if the seat isn't moved for a long time. After less than a minute the whole thing is now working perfectly. Thanks so much this has saved me a small fortune x

Drivers seat motor wont go back or forward but will go up and down

maybe something jammed in the rails or damaged motor. Up & down is ok because it has seperate motor. Easy to remove seat and have a look at the set up. Basically it's a long screw on the end of a motor that drives thru a captive nut in the seat. Sometimes the captive nut wears and causes "seat rock" fore and aft.

I don,t understand how roof hit something in back seat
If roof is down you need to use special tool located end of driver side dash
Flip of plastic cover to see tool
Check owner manual how to use
The tool will locate between rear seat, this will close and lock rear cover
Make sure both sides of rear cover lock, get friend to press down
Once rear cover is locked down, remove tool, and check opperation
Make sure doors shut and windows down

You can move the drivers seat back by turning on the power, getting in the seat and position your feet firmly on the fron flor with your back firmly against he seatback, and then engage the switch pushing back - while pushing like hell with your feet. You can actually hear the seat drive shaft turning while the seat moves back. The principle should be the same for moving forward, but pressure would have to be aplide to the back of the seat.

Drivers side seat will not adjust in the up and down position. When activated, it appears that solenoid is triggered, but seat will not raise or lower. Front and back adjustments are fine.

I had the same problem. It turned out that the previous owner(s) had let a lot of sticky trash accumulate under the seat. After the seat was removed and everything (seat tracks and floor) was given a good cleaning, the seat goes up and down just fine.
