No chime with headlights on or key in ignition

2002 honda civic If I leave the headlights on there is no chime when I open the door. The same if I leave the keys in the ignition and the intirior light doesn't come on with the switch set in the middle position. I can't find the door switch. Also when the car is cold the automatic transmision slips shifting from 2nd to 3rd and from 3rd to 4th. Once it's warmed up this doesn't happen.

You need to replace the chime control and you need to have the transmisson oil filter serviced and the oil replaced and add some lucas transmisson additive to get it to stop slipping, transmissons slip over time because of sticking valves and bands that are hardened.

Chime doesn't work, When you leave the key in the ignition and door open, no chime. When you turn the truck off with the headlight on, no chime. Also when you open the drivers door, no interior lights

Common problem for a Ford. I found with mine having that and multiple other low voltage problems it came down to the body computer. Don't skip over the easy things first though. The fuse, the chime itself and a grounding wire.

My door chime wont stop ringing when the driver side door is open and the keys are out of the ignition. how can i fix this?

I just found out that the problem on our 1998 windstar was the chime switch attached to the ignition switch. This chime switch when dislodged will short and act as if the keys are still on when the door is open ( thus sounding off the alarm). I had a hunch that the problem was close to the steering wheel because the alarm would stop if I change the angle of the steering wheel a couple of notches up or down. I guess when i did that the chime switch that i'm pertaining to get reset to the right position and stops the alarm. when i opened up the steering wheel housing around the ignition , the chime switch fell, it had a blk wire I think, and I saw that the clips on it were kind of melted thus not sticking to its right position. I just had to remove the ignition switch for a while and replaced the chime switch with the help of a zip tie wrapped around it. then I placed every part back together and no chimes... also I did this all while the battery was disconnected because i needed the ignition switch to be in the on position to get it off the steering wheel. Good luck guys!

How to stop the key alarm that beeps constantly when the driver's door is open and keys in the ignition? I wish to diable.

This alarm was placed in the vehicle for the purpose of not leaving your keys in the ignition while getting out and locking the door.
If in fact you wish to disable this safety function (and possibly one day lock your keys in the vehicle) Look under the dash, drivers side, while the chime is activated. You should be able to locate where the beeping sound is coming from and unplug the chime.

Headlight Cutoff Relay

From reading your description you sound pretty intelligent, So forgive me but I must ask these questions. How did you wire the relay?, Did you cut the ignition wire? Does the relay have a diode?
Instead of going this route, Maybe you could hook up a chime instead. There is a chime you can purchase at Radio Shack (12v dc electronic chime) Check out this link:
http://wwwx.cs.unc.edu/%7Ehays/crx/headlight_chime/, It may be helpful, and less complicated.

Warning bell won't stop sounding

Section 13-09: Gauges, Warning Devices — Chime System 1996 Windstar Workshop Manual
DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION Warning Chime Systems Three distinct sounds are used to indicate the area of concern. Seat belt warning generates 1 chime per second
key-in-ignition generates 2 chimes per second
headlight on generates 4 chimes per second.
Key-In-Ignition Warning The key-in-ignition warning will sound when the driver's front door (20125) is opened with the key in the ignition switch. It will continue to sound until the key is removed, the front door is closed, the ignition switch is turned to START or the vehicle speed is over 24 kmh (15 mph).

Safety Belt Warning When the ignition switch is turned to RUN or START from OFF or ACC, the chime will sound for six seconds or until the safety belt is buckled.
  • The safety belt warning indicator lamp (10C859) will activate for 60 seconds or until the driver's safety belt is fastened. Both the chime and lamp activate at the same time.
Anytime the ignition switch is released from START and returns to RUN while the safety belt lamp or chime is activated, the safety belt warning lamp or chime will remain activated until either the timing sequence has been executed, or the safety belt is buckled.

Headlamp Switch On Warning The chime will be activated if the headlamps or parking lamps are ON, the key is not in the ignition and the driver's door is opened. The chime will sound at a rate of four per second.
